Freshliance temperature recorder has approved by Emirates Airlines
Freshliance data loggers are compliant with IATA requirements and can be shipped by air in accordance with UN 3091, Packing instructions 970 section II on lithium cells and batteries. This is great news, as we know that due to safety concerns, the transport of batteries generally encounters flight restrictions.
Lithmet batteries are dangerous for airlines. For that reason, they are practically forbidden to most airlines, and some even prohibit cargo flights. Ion batteries, however, are tolerated on most flights, but are highly regulated by IATA, the umbrella organisation for aviation regulation. Transporting lithium batteries, whether from one strain or another, involves very real risks, such as the spillage of corrosive liquid that can injure people or damage the environment, as well as the possibility of short-circuits that can cause fires. Transporting and storing these products is complex, as they cannot withstand cold (below 4°C) or heat (over 40°C). To minimize risks, certified packaging is required to protect batteries from temperature variations and turbulent shocks.
