Temperature monitoring of dry ice transportation Dry ice Ultra low temperature data logger
Most airlines use dry ice as an on-board cooling solution, especially on long-haul flights. Dry ice packs are placed in meal distribution carts to keep food and beverages frozen or chilled until they are prepared or served. Dry ice is widely used in the airline industry for a number of reasons:
ü its cooling power is three times higher than water ice
ü it sublimates without leaving a residue (i.e. no risk of softening the food)
ü it is not toxic
ü it is not flammable
ü it has no taste or smell
Dry ice is commonly used to transport biological samples (e.g. tissue and blood) and heat-sensitive biomedical/pharmaceutical products during the shipping process. It offers high cooling capacity in relation to the payload.
The Fresh Keeper-IUT is an ideal temperature data logger for ultra low temperature shipments requiring frequent sampling intervals. This dry ice logger is a versatile, wide-range temperature data logger, offering high-resolution temperature ranges from -90℃ to +70℃, for a maximum of 35,000 readings with an actual temperature display. This ultra-low thermometer generates a report automatically after being connected to the computer, without the need for software. The Fresh Keeper IUT can be used for a wide variety of applications such as monitoring dry ice shipments, sea or air freight, distribution, storage and freezing and pharmaceuticals; without any additional probes. It is also suitable for in-transit recordings of biopharmaceuticals, life sciences, biological samples, blood cold chain and diagnostic reagents, including biological reagents, molecular reagents, COVID-19 reagents and cell biology agents in a low-temperature environment.
